Who are we?

We are a jazz quintet based in Melbourne.

We have been gigging regularly since 2007, after starting as a jam session band. We are developing a distinct sound and approach, with lots of music and great variation to suit the audience and the mood of the moment.

Our fortnightly residence at The Bendigo, 125 Johnston St Collingwood 3066
Melbourne
is starting to add pepper to the swing dance scene.

Come and enjoy - .Jazz at The Bendigo.

The band

Voice: Rachel Juhasz

Rachel's main interest is the combination of BIG musical theatre and the intimacy of small group work.

Rachel was one of those weird kids in the ‘80s who preferred watching old black and white Hollywood musicals to ‘Video Hits.’ Consequently, rather than idolising Kylie Minogue and making up routines to ‘Locomotion’ and ‘I Should Be So Lucky,’ Rachel became a miniature Judy Garland and staged countless school-ground performances of ‘The Trolley Song’ and ‘Zing Went the Strings of My Heart’.

While she began formal vocal training during high school and performed in numerous concerts and soirees, Rachel turned her attention seriously to singing in 2000. After a year under the tutorage of David Jaanz at the Jaanz School of Singing, Rachel went on to study jazz vocals under the likes of pianist Bob Sedergreen and vocalists Michelle Nicole and Alison Wedding. She is now an experienced singer with countless solo, group, big band and live theatre performances under her belt - she loves to perform.

With influences including Judy Garland, Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan, Rachel is a passionate and thoughtful vocalist.  She is also a promising songwriter whose works capture the essence of yesteryear.
